// Homelabs for Hackers
About this site
Homelabs for Hackers is an independent publication I started in August 2026. It’s free to subscribe. You’ll get full access to the site plus an email when there’s something new to read.
What you get
Everything published so far, and everything still to come. No paywall creeping in later, no tiered nonsense, just the full archive.
New stuff, straight to your inbox
I’ll email you when something new goes up. No algorithm deciding whether you see it, no missed posts because you didn’t happen to check on the right day.
Who writes this
I’m George Ferres. I run a small rack in a cupboard in Melbourne :)
Most of what’s here is written, edited and published by me, though I’m always keen to have guest posts from people who’ve got something worth sharing. As it happens, the infrastructure this site runs on is the same infrastructure it writes about: a self-managed VPS running Ghost behind Caddy.
If something here is wrong, it’s my fault, and I’d like to know about it.
Want to contribute?
Yes, please. This is a one-person operation, but it’s not a closed one.
Get in touch at info@home4hack.au if you:
- have a build log, migration or post-mortem you’d like published here (yours, under your name)
- spotted something wrong in a post, and can point at what
- want to suggest a topic worth digging into
- run something unusual and would be up for being written about
Drafts don’t need to be polished. A rough writeup with real command output and a clear account of what went wrong beats a tidy piece with neither. Say what you tried, what happened, and what you’d do differently.
